Kids Adventure at Kidzania Kuala Lumpur

Our family is a fan of Kidzania Manila because of the activities that makes the kids more responsible in terms of using their hard earned kidzos. I saw online that Kidzania is also present in Kuala Lumpur so we booked our tickets thru Klook for a cheaper rate.

From Batu Caves, we supposed to take a train going back to KL Sentral and then ride 2 more trains to reach Kidzania which will take about 1 hour and 30 mins, however we figured out that it will be cheaper if we book a grab instead since we are a big group. From Batu Caves our grab fare is 41 RM for the 6 seater car and the travel time is less than an hour.

Before going to Kidzania we had our lunch at nearby McDonalds. The menu of McDonalds is very different, they only have few meals with rice which is Ayam Goreng and the rest are mostly chicken and burgers. The price is affordable and serving is big compared to Manila serving.

After lunch we proceeded to Kidzania entrance. We showed our printed voucher from Klook and to our surprise the customer service said that they are almost full that day and that the waiting time for each activity is more than one hour. They asked if we want to reschedule for free I told them that we can’t since we are only staying in KL until tomorrow morning. We insisted to atleast give us express access to some of the activities so the kids will be able to enjoy however they do not provide that kind of courtesy given that we book our visit one month prior to our visit. It is very disappointing. We were left with no choice but to enter even if we knew that it will be chaotic and crowded inside since they do not offer a refund as well.

The inside of Kidzania KL is almost the same with Kidzania Manila. They also have a protruding airplane, their sponsor is Airasia while Cebu Pacific is in Manila. We do not need to line up at the immigration since our kids have their own kidzania passport already. The only difference is that in Kidzania KL you need to apply or line up in advance for the popular activities like Pilot training, cabin crew, burger making, firemen and some other activities. They will ask the kids to line up 1 hour earlier then give out numbers and wait again for your turn for the activity. Since there are a lot of kids who are waiting for those activities we decided not to wait anymore and look for something else.

We found the construction site, they applied as painters. The kids need to wear the painters’ uniform before proceeding to do the work. They painted a wall and get paid with Kidzos afterwards.

The next activity is with the same construction site but this time they applied as window washer/cleaner. They changed into new uniform and were given tools like squeegee, pale and rugs. They were instructed how to do it and after a fee minutes they started working. After 2 glass windows they were paid for the work.

We checked other activities but everything has long lines except for the Ztech Computer Factory. The instructor brought them in and asked them to design a computer. They seriously looks like geniuses wearing that lab coat.

Its already 4:30PM and most of the activities are on the last batch of kids work so we cannot find anymore activities for them.

We went down to the bank and lined up to open an account. They got a new ATM card which is a bank in Malaysia and afterwards I asked the kids to withdraw the kidzos so they can use it in Manila.

The visit that we had is tiring and disappointing at the same time, I felt like I did not get the value of the money that I paid for. I hope that they have advised tourists like us via email that they will have a lot of visitor on that date and we should reschedule the visit. The kids enjoyed it somehow but they weren’t able to experience other activities.
