A day at the Happiest Place on Earth – Disneyland Hong Kong

IMG_8594It is everyone’s dream to visit Disneyland once in their lifetime. I consider myself very lucky because this is not my first time but my 4th time visiting the Happiest Place on Earth – Disneyland Hong Kong.

With the first 3 visits, I learned that you don’t need to consume your whole day at Disneyland Hong Kong specially if your date of visitΒ is during off peak season or weekdays which means less people and less queue in each rides.

So during the 2nd half of our first day we went to Disneyland.

How to Get there:

From any MTR station look for a connecting line to Tung Chung Line, you need to alight at Sunny Bay station and change train to Disneyland Resort Line. You will easily find the train because Mickey’s ears or head is everywhere.

Disneyland has a ticketing booth before entering the park, but it is more convenient to buy your tickets online to avoid the long queuing.

We got out tickets at a very low price thru Klook Travel Fest last March 2019. We got huge discount from attending that event.

The Klook Disneyland Ticket that we purchased includes a 1 day pass to the theme park and a dinner or lunch voucher to the restaurants inside the park.

The Park:Β

The park is divided into different themes based on Disney characters. Upon entering you will see the Main Street USA where you can find the Disneyland Railroad, Animation Academy and others.

You will find the Marvel Rides including the newest opened ride – Ant Man and Wasp at Tomorrow Land.

In Fantasy Land you will see the “its a small world” ride, Cinderella’s Carousel, Mad Hatter Tea Cup and the Fairy Tale Forest and many more.

IMG_8706At Toy Story Land, you will be greeted with giant Woody and Giant Toys. They have Slinky Dog Spin and Toy Soldier Parachute Drop.

img_8707.jpgThere is also a place called Mystic Point where you can experience the Mystic Manor.

In Adventure Land, they have the Jungle River Cruise which has been my favorite from the past 3 visits I had.

Lastly is the Grizzly Gulch, where you can find the Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars.

What to do:

Everything depends on your priorities, you need to have a check list of what you want to see first specially if it is your first visit here. You can get a guide map upon entering the park.

For us, upon entering we lined up to take a photo op with Mickey and Minnie which took us about 2 hours but I can say that it is all worth it.

After that since we are big fans of Marvel movies we go straight to Tomorrow Land to experience the Ironman Ride and Ant Man and Wasp Nano Battle. It was really fun and it feels like you are part of the Marvel cinematic.

We tried the “It’s a Small World”, Mystic Manor and Fairy Tale Forest.

We are not a fan of thrilling rides so we spent most of our time sight seeing and taking a lot of photos and memories inside the park.

Where and What to Eat:Β

There are a lot of restaurants inside the Park. The food are a little pricey since this is an International Park the good example is the bottled water inside the park cost 25HKD which is about 175 pesos.

We are lucky because our 1 day pass ticket comes with a Lunch or Dinner voucher that is of equal or less than to 149 HKD. We planned to have our dinner at the Royal Banquet but we are very tired after our tour so we just end up having our dinner at Star Liner Diner in Tomorrow Land.

IMG_8714We didn’t regret it since they have the Ant Man theme Burger meal and we enjoyed it a lot.

Parade and Fireworks:

To capped off the night is the Disney Paint the Night Parade, where all the Disney character will have a parade at the Main Street with a lot of lights that is definitely an eye catcher. Right after the parade there should be Fireworks Display however, during our visit the Castle is under construction and they do not have Fireworks. I watched the Fireworks twice already and it is very mesmerizing.

I suggest that you stay for few more minutes inside the park since there will be long lines at MTR going back to Sunny Bay.

Till next time Mickey and Minnie…
